如若只是初见何须感伤离别

'If we only met at first, why need we feel sorrow about farewell'. The idiom suggests reminiscence about a fleeting past meeting with somebody that didn't lead to a further bond or ended tragically; thus leaving behind feelings of melancholy when they parted.
