有缘千里来相会无缘对面手难牵
[yŏu yuán qiān lĭ lái xiāng huì wú yuán duì miàn shŏu nán qiān]
This Chinese phrase means 'If two people are fated to meet, they will do so even if they are a thousand miles apart; and without fate they cannot hold hands even face to face.' It is used for describing two people's encounters and fate.
