'Pain Without Sensation' describes a situation where although pain may be caused by external circumstances, there is no perception of such discomfort in the internal world. Perhaps because the soul feels nothing, perhaps too much sadness leads to numbness. One's inner spirit seems dead, not only indifferent to physical injury but also lacking any emotion or motivation.
