孤傲傲娇
[gū ào ào jiāo]
The term '孤傲傲娇' (gu ào àojiāo) can be split into two parts. '孤傲' suggests a person who has an independent and aloof character. Such a person is quite proud and doesn't conform to ordinary social norms. They like doing everything alone and feel self-sufficient, not relying on others easily, which may make this type of people seem to be cold and high-and-mighty. On the other hand, '傲娇' originally comes from Japanese Akihabara popular culture, describing someone who acts indifferently in public while secretly longing for love. Over time it evolved into meaning those who tend to put up an indifferent front even when actually caring about something or someone.
