北固阳下
[bĕi gù yáng xià]
A reference from classic Chinese poetry, usually describing the sun shining on the northern slope (north side traditionally considered less exposed to sunlight). It evokes an image where under such unusual scenery (as north sides do not usually have ample sunshine), things are special, representing a serene and different atmosphere or mood.
