树深时见鹿海深时无鲸
[shù shēn shí jiàn lù hăi shēn shí wú jīng]
Means 'Seeing deer when the tree is deep; there is no whale when the sea is deep.' A poetic way to speak of finding joy and peace (symbolized by deer) in solitude (deep trees), and lacking great encounters or experiences in vast spaces (the deep ocean).
