人心狗
[rén xīn gŏu]
'Man’s heart dog'. On the surface, it seems rather rude or sarcastic toward someone, probably criticizing someone as dishonest, unreliable, cruel, unfaithful, just like what people often say 'A heartless dog'. A deeper interpretation can be that human hearts are hard to read, complex, just like the dog behaviors which are often unpredictable too. Thus, it represents the confusion, ambiguity, hypocrisy of mankind and its actions.
